1. Warranty Coverage

Shelton Acoustic Guitars Inc. ("Shelton") warrants to the original retail purchaser that your Shelton acoustic guitar will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original purchase.

This warranty covers:

  • Structural defects in the body, neck, or headstock arising from faulty workmanship
  • Defects in finishing applied during our USA setup process
  • Defective fret installation or seating performed by our technicians
  • Defective nut or saddle fitting performed during our USA setup
  • Hardware defects attributable to manufacturing or installation error
  • Binding or inlay defects present at the time of purchase

2. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorized modification
  • Damage from extreme temperatures, humidity, or moisture
  • Normal wear and tear, including fret wear, finish checking, or surface scratches
  • Damage from improper storage or transport
  • Strings, picks, straps, or consumable accessories
  • Cosmetic damage not affecting playability or structural integrity
  • Damage from repair or service by anyone other than Shelton or an authorized provider
  • Guitars purchased from unauthorized resellers or third-party individuals
  • Any guitar with a removed, altered, or defaced serial number

3. Warranty Period

The warranty begins on the date of original retail purchase and expires one (1) year thereafter. Proof of purchase (dated receipt or invoice from Shelton) is required to make a claim. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

4. How to Obtain Warranty Service

To make a warranty claim:

  • Contact us at the address or email below within the warranty period to report the defect.
  • Provide proof of purchase, a description of the defect, and photographs.
  • If approved, we will provide return shipping instructions. You are responsible for shipping costs to us; we cover return shipping for approved repairs.

At our sole discretion, we will repair, replace, or refund the original purchase price. We reserve the right to determine the appropriate remedy.

5. Limitation of Liability

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

6. Governing Law

This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Illinois.

8. Acknowledgment of Warranty

By purchasing a Shelton Acoustic Guitar, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms of this Limited Warranty.

9. Return policy

Your satisfaction matters to us. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will gladly accept a return under the following terms.

Return Window

You have 7 business days from the date of delivery — confirmed by your shipment’s tracking information — to contact us and request a return.

How to Initiate a Return

Email us at sheltonacousticguitars@gmail.com to receive a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns shipped without an RA number may be refused. Once authorized, the guitar must be shipped back within 48 hours.

Condition Requirements

The guitar must be returned in the same condition as received — no signs of wear, damage, or modification. All original packaging, accessories, and documentation must be included.

Shipping & Refunds

Return shipping and insurance are the customer’s responsibility. We recommend insuring the shipment for the full purchase price. Once the guitar is received and inspected, your refund will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days. Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
